Swansea City boss Michael Laudrup cools talk of bid for Sevilla and Spain striker Alvaro Negredo

MICHAEL Laudrup has cooled speculation linking Swansea City with Sevilla striker Alvaro Negredo, admitting the Spanish international would be too expensive for the Swans.
The 27-year-old, who is being tracked by the likes of Everton, Tottenham and Borussia Dortmund, has been touted as a transfer target for Swansea.
But with his club Sevilla believed to value the 14-cap Spain forward at around £15 million, Swans boss Laudrup does not believe Negredo will be moving to the Liberty Stadium.
"I don't think it's possible because I know there are other teams who want him," he said.
"I think we're talking double figures in terms of millions of pounds, so I don't think we can (sign him).
"It's out of our league. We cannot pay £10 million, £12 million or £14 million."
Sevilla's financial difficulties mean that Negredo could be available for a cut-price deal, alerting a number of clubs to his potential availability.
The former Real Madrid player has scored 18 goals in La Liga so far this season, making him the fourth top-scorer behind Lionel Messi, Cristiano Ronaldo and Radamel Falcao.
Laudrup has already stated his intention to sign a striker in the summer, with Celta Vigo forward Iago Aspas and Chelsea's Romelu Lukaku — currently on loan at West Brom — believed to be in his sights.
