HIS fight for life touched the hearts of millions around the world.
And now former Bolton Wanderers star Fabrice Muamba will present the Capital One League Cup trophy to the winning team at the match tomorrow.
The 24-year-old was forced to retire from football after suffering a cardiac arrest on the pitch while playing for Bolton against Tottenham Hotspur in an FA Cup tie in March 2012.
And now the midfielder has accepted an invitation from sponsor Capital One to present the trophy which everyone hopes will be coming to South West Wales after the Swans take on Bradford City.
The credit card company has also made a donation to the Hearts and Goals campaign, a charity which aims to raise awareness about heart problems and improve access to defibrillators for communities across the UK.
He said: "It's been such an exciting tournament this year and it will be a great honour to be presenting the trophy to the winners.
"I would like to thank Capital One for the generous donation to Hearts and Goals.
"I know it will be a very special atmosphere on Sunday."
Shocked
After Fabrice collapsed on the pitch medics from both teams battled to save the footballer's life. He was rushed to hospital and after being shocked with a defibrillator 15 times his heart finally started beating again — 78 minutes after it had stopped.
Following his collapse there was an outpouring of sympathy towards the former Arsenal and Birmingham City man, with fans from across the globe wishing him well.
In January he and his wife Shauna announced they were expecting their second child.
Despite his incredible recovery, Fabrice announced in August last year that he would have to retire from the game.
