SWANSEA City have ruled out selling Ki Sung-Yueng — but may let him leave on loan after receiving a number of enquiries. Sunderland are favourites to land Ki after the player expressed concerns over how much game-time he will get at the Liberty this season. A leading Championship club are also keen on the South Korean international but, despite talk of interest from Roberto Martinez, Swansea have not been contacted by Everton. And though there has been an enquiry from a Bundesliga club, Swansea chairman Huw Jenkins does not expect Ki to move to Germany. "We have had a couple of calls in relation to Ki because, as everybody can see, he has not been in the squad much in the early part of the season," Jenkins said.

TOBY Radford, the former Middlesex coach and current West Indies assistant, has emerged as a potential candidate to succeed Matthew Mott at Glamorgan. The Welsh county announced earlier this month that Mott will be leaving his role as elite performance director at the end of the season, as part of a major overhaul at the Swalec Stadium. Glamorgan have decided to scrap that role, appointing former England Cricket Board managing director Hugh Morris as director of cricket and chief executive, and leaving a vacancy for a head coach. The Evening Post can reveal the county have been approached by the agent of Radford, who is from Caerphilly and currently the batting and assistant coach of the West Indies. His contract with the West Indies Cricket Board is negotiated on a tour-by-tour basis and, with the West Indies not playing until December's series against New Zealand, Radford is free to negotiate with other teams. The Welshman boasts an impressive CV, leading Middlesex to the 2008 Twenty20 Cup and playing a prominent role at the ECB during Morris's time at the governing body. "I'm a proud Welshman and I've always supported Glamorgan — it would be the ideal opportunity for me," Radford told the Evening Post. "There have been discussions between my agent and the club, but at the moment they are at an early stage." Read more in Wednesday's Evening Post.

Swansea City in reported bid for Spanish striker Alvaro Vazquez

SWANSEA City have reportedly tabled a £2.5 million bid for Getafe striker Alvaro Vazquez. Michael Laudrup stated during pre-season that he did not want to sign any more Spaniards after recruiting three La Liga players - Jose Canas, Jordi Amat and Alejandro Pozuelo - over the summer. But there are now suggestions that Laudrup has gone back to Spain with an offer for Vazquez. Espanyol product Vazquez only moved to Getafe last summer, but struggled to make an impact with the Madrid club last season. However, the 22-year-old has an impressive record for both the Spanish Under-21s and Under-20s. Laudrup has made it clear that he is determined to sign a forward before next Monday's transfer deadline. If Vazquez signs, Swansea will have eight Spanish players in their first-team squad.

COULD Pembrey Airport welcome Premier League footballers such as Manchester City's Joe Hart?

Travel planners for the club, among others, are said to have been in touch with airport manager Winston Thomas asking if they can land there to fulfil their fixture against Swansea City this season.

There has also been a mix of military and civil flight movements that has had Sherlock fans interested since news broke that Pembrey had been selected as a location for the BBC One television crime drama series.

Captain Thomas, who manages the airport, said talks were ongoing with land owners Carmarthenshire Council and fellow lessees about a possible runway extension.

Swansea City's Ki Sung-Yueng is not for sale — but loan option

"But one thing I would emphasise is that Ki is not going to leave permanently. We brought him here last year as somebody who suits this club and somebody who will be with us for the future. Our thoughts on that have not changed."

Sunderland boss Paolo Di Canio stated over the weekend that he wants a midfielder with physical presence, and Swansea may be prepared to do a deal just 12 months since they stumped up £5.5 million to bring Ki south from Celtic.

The 24-year-old made 38 appearances in his first season as a Swan, but fears he will be a bit-part player this term after the arrivals of Jonjo Shelvey and Jose Canas. "If, and it's a big if, Ki leaves, it will be on loan," Jenkins added.

"Personally I am not keen for him to go anywhere because we have got a lot of games coming up and we need as much cover as possible. But there's also a view from Ki's side and his agent's side that he would like to play regularly.

"There are a few options because he is well thought of."

Jenkins confirmed that he has not heard from Everton over Ki, but Sunderland have made contact about a loan deal.

One of the Championship's high-end clubs have also spoken to Swansea, while a Bundesliga side expressed an interest during the close season but that link has now gone quiet. As well as Ki, Swansea have had interest in Belgian international winger Roland Lamah, who has struggled to make a mark since arriving on an 18-month loan from Osasuna last January.

"We have had a few enquiries but there is nothing definite yet," Jenkins added. "We are trying to do something regarding Roland, Leroy Lita and Curtis Obeng before the window closes."

While some departures look likely before next Monday night, Jenkins has stated once again that Swansea know nothing about stories linking Ashley Williams and Michu with Arsenal.

"Nothing has changed there, I have not had one call or enquiry," he state.

"That's pure speculation as far as I am aware, and that is good news because we don't want any interest in those two."

Jonjo Shelvey is in the England Under-21 squad for the European Championship games against Moldova and Finland.

Swansea City chief working round the clock on transfer deals

HUW Jenkins is pledging to work round the clock in a bid to bolster Swansea City's squad before Monday's transfer deadline.

Michael Laudrup reckons a pacy forward would be the final piece in the jigsaw at the end of a summer in which Swansea have already made six major signings.

And Jenkins is to miss out on Swansea's Europa League trip to Romania this week as he focuses instead on delivering a new frontman.

The Swansea chairman has confirmed he has spoken to West Brom about a possible move for Baggies outcast Peter Odemwingie.

But Jenkins says the Nigerian international is just one of a number of options being considered with five days left to complete a deal.

"We are trying hard to bring in another forward," Jenkins said, "and we will see how things develop over the next few days.

"We will do our best to make something happen and we are hopeful that we will get someone in — that is our aim.

"We have had discussions with West Brom (over Odemwingie), but we have been in discussions with lots of different clubs about different players.

"The one thing you learn about this stage of the window is that you cannot focus on only one target.

"You have got to have plenty of options, otherwise you might end up wasting your time."

Odemwingie looks destined to leave West Brom in the next few days having not trained with Steve Clarke's first-team squad this season.

However, Cardiff and Stoke are both thought to be interested as well, and Albion are likely sell to the highest bidder. It is thought Odemwingie is keen on switching to the Liberty — but Swansea must first agree a fee.

And Jenkins admits there are obstacles to clear on all the possible transfers he is working on.

"Whether it's a loan player or a permanent singing, all the clubs are trying to get the best deals they can," he added.

"The agents are trying to get the best deals they can, whether that means fees, security or length of contract.

"We don't want to be doing anything which is not right for our club, but I am hopeful that we will get something sorted out."

Firm hands out fines in bid to keep Swansea's streets clean

A PRIVATE company will start handing out fines to litter louts and people who fail to pick up after their dogs next month.

An external team of litter enforcement officers has been tasked with patrolling the city and county by Swansea Council.

The cost of using the local government enforcement company —  3GS —  will be covered by the £75 fines handed out.

June Burtonshaw, Swansea Council's cabinet member for place, said: "Our latest initiative will aim to tackle litter louts head on.

"We plan to carry out much more enforcement and hopefully this will send out the message to everyone that we will not tolerate littering.

"Dog fouling is something that the public has told us they want us to deal with and we will be focussing much of our effort on those people who do not clean up after their pets."

The crackdown is part of a new initiative to deal with litter and dog fouling problems.

The plans include the introduction of two additional litter collection teams and extra dog mess bins have also been purchased to help boost the number of bins in Castle, Penderry and Townhill wards.

Every year, cleaning up litter, including fly tipping and dog fouling, costs the council around £2.7 million.

Approximately £500,000 of that cost is spent in the city centre alone.

In June and July this year, 43 fixed penalty notices were handed out to members of the public.

The council also succeeded in prosecuting three people in Swansea who had failed to pay fixed penalty notices issued for dropping litter and dog fouling.

Mrs Burtonshaw added: "We are serious about cleaning up the city and we want residents to play their part and help us keep Swansea clean and tidy."

Henson told 'one more drink and you're out'

GAVIN Henson has been told by his new club Bath: "One more drink and you're out". The latest incident involving the Wales international saw Henson floored by a punch from team-mate Carl Fearns after a heavy drinking session in the city. And ahead of the new Aviva Premiership campaign, the former Ospreys star has been told in no uncertain terms that any further indiscretion will not be tolerated. "My heart did sink when it happened," said Bath's head coach Mike Ford, in an interview with the Independent newspaper. "I worked with Gavin on the Lions tour of New Zealand in 2005 and found him a really nice lad — shy, hard-working and very committed to his rugby. "When we were reacquainted earlier in the summer, he struck me as being exactly the same. So yes, the incident was pretty disappointing. Basically he knows he can't be found with another drink in his hand." Henson is yet to feature for Bath, who play the Ospreys in a pre-season friendly at The Rec on Friday night. "A massive point in all this was what the players felt about it, and they decided as a group that they wanted to help Gavin become a part of things here," added Ford. "We have a couple of other out-and-out No. 10s available to us, but they're aged 20 and 21. The need for a third, experienced No. 10 was obvious, so we went for Gavin, who was immediately available and had shown at London Welsh last season that he could still perform at a high level. I think we all want it to work out." Speaking recently about the incident, Henson said: "There was a lot of drink involved, that's my excuse. Daft things seem to happen when I go out so maybe I shouldn't go out. "It was a bit embarrassing and not a great thing for the club but I like to think the squad grew closer together after that. "It wasn't a great start to my Bath career and I'd like to put that behind me. "Hopefully I can get out on the field and people will see me as just a rugby player."

Swansea City skipper Ashley Williams heads a list of five players who have not travelled to Romania for tomorrow night's Europa League clash with Petrolul Ploiesti. Williams (knee), Wilfried Bony (ankle) and Jonjo Shelvey (knee) will all miss the second leg of the European play-off tie, with the Swans leading 5-1 from the first leg. That trio join Nathan Dyer, who has a hamstring injury, and Neil Taylor on the sidelines. Taylor is set to be out of action for four to six weeks and will miss Wales's next two 2014 World Cup qualifiers, in Macedonia on September 6 and against Serbia at Cardiff City Stadium on September 10 after suffering severe bruising to his thigh. If Michael Laudrup's side complete the job they will qualify for the Europa League group stage, which guarantees at least another six European matches.

Lorry driver who filmed women in public toilets jailed

A LORRY driver who set up secret cameras across Europe in toilets to record women, including two at coffee shops in Swansea, has been jailed for eight months. Police found 41-year-old Martin Kearney had stored more than 200 films and 800 images which he had recorded. Kearney admitted he had planted cameras in public toilets over a number of months. His secret was uncovered by a manager of the Costa Coffee branch at Whitewalls in Swansea on May 26, who saw the camera attached to a hand dryer in the store's single unisex toilet. The camera had been secured by velcro and there was a USB storage device also attached, Swansea magistrates heard. Kearney, of Penybryn, Ystradgynlais, admitted to police that between September 2012 and May 2013 he had installed cameras at Costa in Parc Fforestfach and in service stations across England. When interviewed by police he also admitted installing cameras in toilets in Holland, France and Spain while he was away working as a long-distance lorry driver. Kearney admitted sharing one clip on an internet forum. He told police he would put them in unisex facilities so his entry into the toilets did not arouse suspicion. He said he would stay in the premises for up to 40 minutes before returning into the toilet to collect the equipment. Kearney said while he was in Costa he saw the store manager discover the camera and he left the store. He said he then panicked when he saw the police forensics van arrive and decided to dispose of all his goods. He took a bag containing two laptops, pornography, women's underwear and recording devices to a forest in Glynneath. A woman living nearby saw Kearney park in a lay-by and take the bag into the forest but return without it. She went into the forest and brought the bag back. The woman then switched on the laptop she said it was "full" of porn and called police. Inside was a letter addressed to Kearney which led police to him. Kearney admitted he had become a voyeur after visiting sites on the internet. He said he had bought the cameras from Ebay. When he was arrested, Kearney accepted children were among those he recorded. He told police: "I am worried about the kids". Kearney handed himself in while in Tewkesbury and told officers he was wanted by Swansea police. Kearney admitted a charge of voyeurism and five of observing a person doing a private act. Prosecutor Anwen Evans said the females were unaware they were being filmed. Giles Hayes, for Kearney, said his client had provided information to the police they would not otherwise have known. "He was deeply embarrassed and ashamed of his conduct," said Mr Hayes. Chairman of the bench, Anthony Davies, told the court there were a number of aggravating factors in his offending. "They were premeditated and relatively sophisticated. They were targeted against men, women, children and the disabled, all for the defendant's sexual gratification. The recordings were retained and over 1,000 images and videos were stored, one video was shared on the internet," he said. He imposed four month terms for the offence of installing the camera at Costa on Whitewalls and for observing a person doing a private act at the Fforestfach branch. Those terms will run consecutively. Concurrent terms of four months each will run on the other four offences of observing a person doing a private act. In total, Kearney will serve eight months. He was also told to sign the sex offenders' register for 10 years.

Gareth Bale included in Wales squad for World Cup qualifiers

Wales boss Chris Coleman has included Gareth Bale in his 23-man squad for next month's World Cup qualifying double-header against Macedonia and Serbia. Bale, around whom speculation over a proposed world-record transfer from Tottenham to Real Madrid continues to intensify, did not feature in Wales' goalless friendly draw with the Republic of Ireland in Cardiff earlier this month. The 24-year-old forward had been called up for that match, but Coleman subsequently said Bale was "physically not ready" to play due to a foot injury. Meanwhile, unsettled star Bale has failed to report for training for a second day. Bale, who wants to move to Real Madrid, skipped training on Tuesday, and he did not turn up at the north London club's base on Wednesday. The 24-year-old did not take part in today's open training session and Press Association Sport understands he was not on the Enfield complex at all. Manager Andre Villas-Boas is expected to clear up why Bale has been missing on Wednesday afternoon at a press conference to preview Tottenham's Europa League play-off against Dinamo Tbilisi. On Sunday the Portuguese said he expected Bale to report to the club's training ground in Enfield on Tuesday, but unlike the rest of his team-mates, the 24-year-old did not show, just like he has not done today. There is a growing feeling that Bale is becoming annoyed at Tottenham's conduct in the whole transfer saga and that he is trying to force through a deal to Madrid. A Spurs source said there was ''no issue'' with Bale not turning up on Tuesday, and the club insist that the player remains in touch with Villas-Boas about his training regime. This contradicted earlier reports that Bale was ''furious and frustrated'' with Tottenham's handling of his proposed world-record transfer to Madrid. Professional Footballers' Association (PFA) chief Gordon Taylor has called on Spurs to allow Bale to leave for the Bernabeu. "Players have, invariably, just the one career, it's, usually, a relatively short career, and here a player has such a tempting offer to play for one of the world's greatest-ever clubs," Taylor told Zapsportz.com. "Surely nobody could deny him that right, to play for such a club, with all due respects to his present club. "The game is all about money. Of course, it always was, but much less of it in the past. Now we are talking about incredible numbers, but for the player it is also an opportunity to play at the pinnacle of the game." Even though Bale is officially unavailable for Spurs because of a foot injury, he has been included in the Wales squad for their upcoming games against Macedonia and Serbia. Tottenham, meanwhile, insist they will not sell Bale to Madrid until they have signed at least one more player to replace him. Talks in London are ongoing with Roma over the possible transfer of midfielder Erik Lamela, but Villas-Boas' hopes of being reunited with Zenit St Petersburg forward Hulk look set to be dashed after the club's manager Luciano Spalletti said the Brazilian was not for sale. Real's hand has been weakened over the course of the last week thanks to their decision to erect a stage that was reportedly set to be used to unveil Bale on Tuesday. It is understood that Spurs chairman Daniel Levy has also not taken kindly to the idea that Real started selling replica shirts with Bale's name on the back, and their offer to spread the world-record fee for Bale over six years. Bale spent the weekend in Marbella after Villas-Boas gave him the weekend off, but he was back in London on Tuesday for a meeting with his agent Jonathan Barnett. Remploy factory in Port Talbot to close

PORT Talbot's Remploy factory is set to close. The company has confirmed that no viable bids had been received for its furniture business and as a result the factory in Baglan will close. Around 70 workers at the factory face compulsory redundancy and today have been handed letters giving them one month notice. A statement from Remploy said it was in May when it announced that a preferred bidder had been identified for its furniture business. There were detailed negotiations with the bidder, Metalliform Holdings Ltd, but the company was unable to continue with their original bid for the entire business. The statement said: "As a result, in July Remploy re-opened discussions with other bidders who had submitted best and final offers for the furniture business or its assets to ascertain whether they wished to submit revised offers. "Best and final offers were evaluated by Remploy and the Company's advisers KPMG and the evaluations were approved by the Department for Work and Pensions (DWP) and an independent panel of experts appointed by DWP. "The Remploy Board has given careful consideration to the bids which were assessed for viability on a series of criteria including continued employment of disabled people, value for money for the taxpayer and the sustainability of the business. "The board has determined that no viable business bids meeting these criteria were received for the furniture business and as a result it will close and all its factories will now move to closure. "All 196 employees, including 160 disabled employees, in factories at Blackburn, Sheffield, Neath and the Furniture Business Office remain at risk of compulsory redundancy. "They will be invited to at least two individual consultation meetings over the next 30 days to discuss the options and the support that will be available to them." The statement said there has however, been "a number of bids" received for the assets of the furniture business. It said: "Remploy is assessing whether these proposals offer value for money and whether there is any real prospect of employment opportunities for disabled people and will continue negotiations with any bidders whose asset bids are successful." It added that the Government has put in place a "comprehensive package of support" to help each disabled employee made redundant. *If you are a Remploy worker please get in touch with Gill Roberts by email or on 01792 514626

WALES boss Chris Coleman is to tie the knot with Sky Sports presenter Charlotte Jackson after proposing at a Gower beauty spot. The former Swans player, who hails from Mayhill, said Rhossili proved the perfect backdrop. "I chose Rhossili because it's a beautiful spot," Coleman journalists at a Wales press conference today. "Where I'm from in the centre of Swansea didn't seem quite so romantic." Jackson had broken the news that she had accepted Coleman's proposal on Twitter. The Welsh boss turned up for Wednesday's conference expecting to talk about the squad for forthcoming World Cup qualifiers against Macedonia and Serbia. He joked: "It's nice to be distracted from Baley (Gareth Bale) to be honest, normally it's all about him. "She tweeted the news yesterday and I'm delighted." The couple have been dating since last year. They were first spotted together at the Liberty. Jackson has worked on Setanta Sports and appeared in reality shows 71 Degrees North and Tom Daley's Splash, where she reached the semi-finals despite breaking her toe. "In my career I've always had to punch above my weight and I think I'm punching above my weight now," said Coleman who has also worked for Sky Sports. "I asked her last week, after the Ireland game. "We went down to Rhossili, down on the coast, I popped the question and she said yes. "I had to have a conversation with her parents first, which is the old fashioned way. "Charlotte (Jackson) was born in Liverpool but moved down to Hampshire with her family when she was three. "We've set a date privately, but she may tweet that tonight and everyone will know about it."

Litter pests leave their mark at Rhossili Bay

THE undoubted pull of Rhossili Bay combined with glorious sunshine has again revealed a grubby downside. Not for the first time, litter pests have failed to take their rubbish home from the Gower beauty spot. Steve Williams, who took his two nephews there on Monday, said he came across four piles of rubbish on the beach. He also claimed the public toilets ponged and that soiled nappies were dumped on and around litter bins outside. The beach is managed by the National Trust, which has again urged visitors to act responsibility and take their rubbish away. Swansea Council said its staff cleaned the toilets at Rhossili Bay on Monday. Mr Williams said: "Further down the beach there was a rather grim sighting of a rotting sheep carcass which was swarming with flies and maggots - a lovely sight on a hot summer's day." A National Trust spokesman said: "We are doing a lot of things to keep the litter managed, particularly through educating people to be responsible to take their litter with them. "We rely on regular beach cleans with volunteers." A council spokesman said: "Our staff cleaned the toilets at Rhossili Bay twice on bank holiday Monday and also collected rubbish from bins located there."

DWIGHT Tiendalli has returned to Swansea City, signing a three-year contract. Tiendalli arrived on a short-term basis last September after Neil Taylor suffered a serious ankle injury. That agreement expired in the summer, and the Dutch international looked to have played his last game for Swansea. But he is now back at the Liberty to bolster Michael laudrup's full-back options. "I'm very happy to have signed this contract," said Tiendalli. "I had a great experience here last season and I'm delighted to be back. "I know the people, the club, the stadium and the city. For me it's amazing to get back and to be part of Swansea City again. "It took a little bit longer than expected to finalise, but my first thought was always to sign for Swansea."
