JORDI Amat has revealed Swansea City's style proved the major pull when he was offered a chance to switch to the Liberty Stadium.
The 21-year-old centre-back arrived in SA1 last week after completing a £2.5 million move from Espanyol.
And he will be joined in Swansea by Jonathan de Guzman, who will return for a second spell.
The Dutch star agreed a new one-year loan deal from Spanish side Villarreal at the weekend.
Amat was a regular in La Liga last term, which he spent on loan at Michu's old club Rayo Vallecano.
His arrival will intensify competition at the back, with the likes of Ashley Williams, Chico Flores and Garry Monk also vying for places.
Catalonia-born Amat is familiar with the likes of Michu and Pablo Hernandez after coming up against them in his homeland.
And he is also aware of the other players that make up Swansea's sizeable Spanish contingent.
But he also feels the footballing philosophy of Michael Laudrup's side suits him down to the ground.
"I think I can settle into the club straightaway, especially as we have Spanish players here already," said Amat. "I know Pablo Hernandez and Michu already, while Chico and Angel Rangel are very important players here. I also played against Jose Canas last season in La Liga, so I know a lot about him.
"But it's not just that, or the fact Michael Laudrup is manager, it is the way in which the club play. The style here is perfect for me — it is the way I play."
Amat has been attached to Espanyol for his whole career, having been spotted as a seven-year-old.
But he admitted the chance to play in the Premier League with Swansea was too good a chance to turn down.
"I am very happy to join Swansea. One of my dreams has been to play in the Premier League, and I can do that here," he added.
"I am very grateful to the chairman and Michael Laudrup for giving me this opportunity and showing a lot of faith in me. My target now is to repay their faith and do everything I can to help the team.
"I watched Swansea last season — what the club achieved was incredible. To finish in the top half of the Premier League and win a trophy is a massive achievement.
"In Spain, Swansea are very famous now. They talk a lot about the club and how they have become a successful team in the Premier League with an attractive style of play. The club has a great set-up — the stadium is lovely and I know it's full every game, and I can't wait to run out in front of the supporters for the first time."
The capture of de Guzman will also delight Swansea fans. The midfielder proved a big hit last term, scoring eight goals as Swansea finished ninth in the Premier League.
He also netted twice in the Capital One Cup final victory over Bradford City.
"Everyone is happy the loan is continuing," Swansea chairman Huw Jenkins said. "Jonathan will review his long-term future next summer."
