THE wet weather could not put off a parade to celebrate the new mayor of Kidwelly and Mynyddygarreg.
Lynda Finch-Jones has taken over from Jeanette Gilasbey, with Ryan Thomas becoming her deputy.
On Sunday, there was an inauguration parade around the town, before guests had a chance to meet the new mayor.
"It is a humbling experience to have been elected as mayor for this next year," Mrs Finch-Jones said. "It is an honour and a huge responsibility.
"As the mayor for Mynyddygarreg and Kidwelly my promise is to continue to strive to deliver to the town the best value from the resources we have available, to continue to fight for transparency in all that we do and to be the voice of the people."
