POLICE have confirmed a human skull has been found on Cefn Sidan beach in Pembrey.
The skull was found on the beach on Thursday by 64-year-old Brian Prentice, who works at the nearby firing range.
Mr Prentice, who lives on Maes y Capel in Pembrey, said: "It looked like plastic to be honest with you. A couple of us thought it was.
"It's been washed clean or eaten or whatever.
"There wasn't a mark on it."
He said police had taken the skull away to be analysed.
A Dyfed-Powys Police spokeswoman said: "We can confirm it is a human skull.
"That was confirmed for us by the mortuary at Prince Philip Hospital.
"It will now be sent off for DNA testing, but there are no suspicious circumstances."
