BBC newsreader Huw Edwards has bid £2,500 for a pair of boots worn by a Wales rugby star.
Burly Sam Warburton launched the auction on Twitter in an attempt to raise money for a cancer centre in Cardiff - where Wales won a famous victory on Saturday over England.
And the auction got off to a quick start when proud Welshman Edwards chipped in with £2,000 - then upping it to £2,500.
The TV newsreader said: "Well done Sam -- let's get the bids to do justice to the amazing performance on Saturday. I raise bid to £2,000. Huw."
And then, just 15 minutes later, he upped his bid on Twitter to £2,500.
He said: "Really need to concentrate on work...getting very odd looks from Newsroom colleagues...so £2,500 see where it goes."
The auction of the rugby star's boots comes hot on the heels of Wales' record-breaking 30-3 win over England on the final day of the Six Nations on Saturday.
Former Wales captain Warburton, 24, posted a picture of his newly-cleaned, signed, championship-winning boots yesterday on the social media site to begin the auction.
He posted: "Twitter auction!! All Proceeds to @velindre. Match worn and signed @adidasUK 6 nations boots."
All money raised will go to the Velindre Cancer Centre in Cardiff, which Warburton is a patron of, and bidding ends at 8pm on Wednesday.
Velindre Cancer Centre is the largest non-surgical cancer hospital in Wales providing radiotherapy, chemotherapy and other specialised treatments for over half the people diagnosed with cancer in Wales.
