A MAN accused of the Christmas Day killing of a Carmarthen woman has been remanded in custody.
David Thomas O'Sullivan, 28, was charged last week with the murder of mother-of-three and grandmother-of-one Charmaine Macmuiris.
The 37-year-old was found on December 25 with stab wounds at his address in Maes yr Ysgol, Carmarthen.
O'Sullivan appeared before Cardiff Crown Court yesterday for a preliminary hearing. The hearing was originally due to take place in Swansea next week, but was brought forward to New Year's Eve to comply with court procedures.
Court rules state that someone charged with an offence of murder must appear in Crown Court 48 hours after their first appearance in a magistrates court.
The defendant only spoke to confirm his identity before being remanded in custody.
He was represented in court by Swansea solicitor Giles Hayes.
O'Sullivan is to appear at Swansea Crown Court for a plea and case management hearing on March 14.
