CYCLISTS are being urged to keep their bikes safe this summer.
With more people taking to two wheels over the summer months, people are being urged to invest in good quality locks and to use them, to property-mark their machines, and to make sure they are kept secure when at home.
Paul Evans, Swansea Council crime prevention officer, urged people not to give thieves the opportunity to strike.
He said: "Something as simple as property marking bikes and ensuring they are locked when left alone even for a few minutes minimises the chances of a bike being stolen by an opportunist thief."
