SWANSEA City must wait to see whether Wilfried Bony is okay for their Premier League opener against Manchester United after the £12 million man departed for international duty with Ivory Coast.
Bony has joined his fellow countrymen for a friendly against Mexico in New Jersey which kicks off in the early hours of Thursday morning.
And that means he will not be back training with Swansea until Friday - just 24 house before the new league season kicks off.
The scenario is far from ideal for Swansea boss Michael Laudrup as he attempts to plot a way past last season's champions.
Bony is one of seven Swans away on international duty this week, but his journey is by far the most taxing.
