A PORT Talbot employer is making sure its workers are safe when cycling to work.
Tata Steel has handed out blue helmets to keep its employees safe on site.
Aberavon councillor Tony Taylor, who has cycled to work for the past 40 years, said: "I think it is great idea. Its is a bold move for Tata to say we are concerned about your wellbeing, not just inside the works but outside as well."
A Tata Steel spokesman said: "We have invested in cycle helmets and they are issued as standard personal protective equipment," he said.
"Around 300 helmets have been issued so far. The take-up on them has been very good.
"We are trying to be a responsible employer. High-visibles are also needed on-site."
