POLICE have confirmed they are not treating the death of a Port Talbot mother as suspicious. The body of 59-year-old Marlene Keogh was found at her home in St Asaph Drive, Sandfields, last Wednesday morning, July 17. She was last seen alive at 4.15pm the previous afternoon, and police appealed for help from anyone who could help them piece together her movements after that. Neighbours described Ms Keogh as a friendly and pleasant person who had worked at a store in Fairway until a few years ago. At the time the death was treated as unexplained. South Wales Police have now said they treating it as a tragic sudden death. Detective Chief Inspector Mark Lewis said: "Following our investigations at the scene and with witnesses we are now content Marlene's death was a tragic and unexpected sudden death with no suspicious circumstances. "I wish to thank the community at St Asaph Drive and the wider Sandfields community for their support during the investigation. "Marlene's family have been informed of our findings and our thoughts are with them at this particularly difficult time. "A file will now be prepared for Her Majesty's Coroner."
