A BUSY seven-year-old has decided the time has come to get on his bike for charity.
Cameron Greenall is planning to ride from his Swansea estate to Mumbles and back — a 22-mile jaunt.
The youngster's proud grandparents, Ingrid and Paul Trueman, will try to keep up with him.
Cameron, who has a BMX and a mountain bike, has already done one half of the route — from Mumbles Pier to Parc Gwernfadog.
"He enjoyed it, and said he'd like to do it more often," said Mrs Trueman. "He said he'd like to do it for a charity."
They put their heads together and came up with a worthwhile cause, Welsh children's cancer charity Latch.
The ride will take place next month, although a day has not been chosen as yet. "We've bought him a pair of padded shorts, helmet and gloves," said Mrs Trueman, of Dee Place, Parc Gwernfadog.
"We want it to be a sunny day."
Like most seven-year-olds, Cameron is a busy boy. He loves swimming, playing the trumpet, and also does DIY classes.
"He is very active," said Mrs Trueman. "I am very proud of him."
The 51-year-old is a cancer survivor and said she had got the bicycling bug. She and her husband will also help Cameron with his fundraising.
Cameron attends Cwmrhydyceirw Primary School and lives at Llwyn Y Bioden, Parc Gwernfadog, with his mum Maria Trueman and her partner.
Denise Henderson, general manager at Latch, said: "Cameron has set himself a tremendous challenge to cycle 22 miles to help children in Wales who suffer from cancer and leukaemia.
"I would like to thank him and wish him every success in his efforts to support Latch."
