A NOTICE of appeal has been filed to the Court of Appeal by a Carmarthenshire blogger who lost a libel case against the council's chief executive.
On March 15 this year, Mr Justice Tugendhat dismissed Jacqui Thompson's libel claim against Mark James in its entirety and upheld his counterclaim, awarding him £25,000 damages. Claims of corruption made against Mr James by Mrs Thompson were dismissed.
Ms Thompson, of Llanwrda, posted the news on her blog - Carmarthenshire Planning Problems and more - today.
She said: "The Notice of Appeal was filed with the Court of Appeal on the June 28, 2013.
"I am appealing against the judgement handed down on March 15, 2013, by Mr Justice Tugendhat and the subsequent Trial Order.
"The Grounds of Appeal relate to and include the serious findings made by the judge against myself, the dismissal of my claim, the counterclaim brought by Mr James, and the award of damages on the counterclaim."
She said the notice also requests permission to appeal, which could see her wait until August for a decision.
Last month, Mrs Thompson also announced a High Court ruling that she must foot the authority's legal bill. She faces a bill of around £230,000 - £190,000 to cover the council's legal defence costs and £41,000 for the council's counter claim.
A spokeswoman for Carmarthenshire Council said Mr James was not available for comment at the time of going to press.
