BAFETIMBI Gomis has distanced himself from a move to Swansea City after insisting he will not be forced into leaving Lyon.
The French international forward has been on the Swans' shortlist as they search for a striker this summer, with Lyon president Jean-Michel Aulas claiming the two clubs had agreed a fee for the player.
Swansea have been in negotiations over a potential club-record £10.2 million deal for Vitesse Arnhem's Wilfried Bony, while they are also weighing up a move for Christian Benitez of Mexican champions Club America.
Lyon are eager to sell Gomis, and the Ligue 1 side have sought to accelerate the 27-year-old's potential exit by leaving him out of their pre-season training camp.
But Gomis, who has also attracted interest from Cardiff and Fiorentina among others, has hinted he would reject a move to the Liberty Stadium.
"Did I refuse Swansea? I have respect for all the clubs, but I can still choose my destination, can't I? I want to choose but without constraint, even if I have been offered better conditions than in Lyon," he told l'Equipe.
"It is not a financial matter to me. The first year, Lyon found an agreement with Fenerbahce, but it didn't prevent me from refusing.
"This time it is different, it is the very first time the coach told the press he doesn't rely on me. He didn't call me.
"It is not the most polite thing to do to a player who scored about 50 goals since you have been in charge. I think I deserve a bit more consideration.
"If I can't find a club that could offer me the guarantees I am expecting, which has the ambition I am looking for, I will stay.
"However, nobody will force me to go where I don't want to go, that is for sure. I am still at Lyon, and I am far from having already left."
