A CANNABIS user had been smoking the drug for 30 years, a court heard.
Wilby Smith, 49, of Gors Avenue, Mayhill, admitted possessing the class B drug after officers found it when they searched his home.
The court was told Smith's home was raided by police on June 7 and when officers asked if he had any drugs inside, he took them to the kitchen and showed them a container which had five lots of cannabis inside.
In his police interview, Smith told officers he had been using the drug for 30 years.
He said the amount found in the house was for his own personal use only.
Smith had previously received a police caution for possession of cannabis.
John Clayton, for Smith, said his client had pleaded guilty to the offence at the first opportunity.
Magistrates fined Smith £105 and told him to pay £85 in costs and a £20 victim surcharge.
