AN Ammanford man went to the home of his girlfriend's parents armed with a knife and wooden stick in case a gun was pulled on him, a court has heard.
Matthew David Farrall, 34, of College Street, Ammanford, had argued with partner, Megan Wyn Jones, and went to her parents' Bettws farm to retrieve money he said she took from him.
But, he claimed, her father owned a gun, so he armed himself with a 4in kitchen knife and a 1m spindle in case he needed to defend himself.
Farrell pleaded guilty to possessing an offensive weapon at Llanelli Magistrates Court this week.
