SCHOOLS across Swansea, Carmarthenshire and Neath Port Talbot are being urged to match the rest of Wales and give their pupils a say on sport.
The Sport Wales School Sport Survey is being completed by more than 1,700 secondary and primary schools across the country.
Importantly, the data will be used by schools and the local authorities to shape planning, allocate resources and listen to the voice of pupils.
Sport Wales regional manager James Owens said: "Progress is being made but we still have lots of schools that haven't started the survey.
"It is hard for us, the local authorities and individual schools to plan how to target our investment and resources without a good evidence base."
Mr Owens added: "I would urge all head teachers to drive this in their school not least because the information will be used by Estyn during inspections."
The end of the summer term is the cut-off point to return the survey.
