AN armed robber threatened a woman working at a Port Talbot bookies with a knife before running off with cash.
Police have appealed for witnesses to the raid on the Ladbrokes Betting Office in Margam Road.
It happened at around 9.55pm last night.
A South Wales Police spokesman said: "A male entered the property armed with a knife, threatened a female member of staff and demanded money.
"The 28-year-old female removed a quantity of cash from the till and handed it over to the suspect.
"Following the incident the suspect was seen to walk up Margam Road in the direction of the Twelve Knights public house.
"He is then seen to pass the Bargain Booze shop and the post office and turn down a lane which leads to the rear of the shops."
The suspect was around 5ft 9in, of medium build, wearing a grey jacket with the hood up, a black balaclava, black gloves, and grey tracksuit trousers.
Detective Inspector Mark Kavanagh of Neath CID said: "The incident happened on a very busy main road that runs through the heart of Margam, and at a time of night when there could well have been a number of people about.
"I am appealing to anyone who was in the vicinity of the betting shop and saw this man or has any relevant information to come forward."
