GLAMORGAN warmed up for their Friends Life t20 campaign with a comfortable 72-run victory against a South Wales Premier League XI at the Swalec Stadium.
After winning the toss and electing to bat, Glamorgan scored 162-6 from their 20 overs before dismissing their opponents for 90.
Jim Allenby and Gareth Rees got Matthew Mott's men off to a brisk start, while Marcus North and Ben Wright scored 31 and 39 respectively.
The pick of the SWPL XI bowlers was Dan Rowe, who returned figures of 2-16.
The SWPL XI struggled in response, Imran Hassan the only batsman to offer real resistance with 35.
Nick James took 4-17, made a smart run-out and took a good catch at deep mid-wicket as Glamorgan eventually skittled the SWPL XI for 90 in the 16th over.
Glamorgan kick off their twenty20 campaign away at Worcestershire Royals on Friday, before their first home game against Warwickshire Bears at the Swalec Stadium the following Wednesday (6.30pm).
