A WOMAN has admitted stealing £410 of meat from a city centre supermarket.
Kelly Ann-Marie Harris, aged 27, of Paviland Place, Portmead, pleaded guilty to theft from Marks and Spencer on Oxford Street on Sunday, June 16.
Prosecutor Anwen Evans told magistrates in Swansea that Harris had said that she had stolen the goods to pay off a debt she had racked up buying heroin.
City magistrates also heard that Harris was subject to two suspended sentence orders at the time for theft
Craig Harding, for Harris, said his client accepted she was going to receive an inevitable prison term.
He said she was on a waiting list for methadone script to reduce her reliance on heroin.
"The fact she hasn't been able to obtain a methadone script means she has continued to commit inquisitive offences," said Mr Harding.
Passing sentence magistrates activated two six week terms of the suspended sentences which will run concurrently and an additional consecutive term of four weeks.
In total, Harris received a 10 week term.
