A MAN had to be rescued after falling down an embankment in the Swansea Valley.
Emergency services attended the incident in Heol Giedd, Ystradgynlais, at 9.38pm last night.
Fire crews from Abercrave and Pontardawe were involved in the rescue.
A Mid and West Wales Fire and Rescue Service spokesman said: "A male had fallen down the embankment close to the river.
"The fire service assisted in hauling him up using ladders and lines.
"The ambulance service was also in attendance and conveyed him to Morriston Hospital."
Details of the man's condition are not known.
