A SWANSEA mum had an unpleasant shock when lewd photographs of a stranger, a baby and a dog emerged via her missing phone.

Clare Harvey said she left her new Samsung Galaxy S4 on her bed while on holiday in the Canary Islands and reported it to the hotel the same morning.

Miss Harvey said that, according to the hotel, the phone was not there.

The 37-year-old and her partner Craig Curtis returned to the UK that day and emailed the hotel again for an update.

Days later, to her horror, Miss Harvey, of West Cross, discovered photographs on her Google+ account that had been automatically uploaded via the missing phone.

"The email said you have 12 photos that have been taken in the last seven days," she said.

"I thought, 'What?' Then these lewd photographs arrived of a woman, another of a dog, her mate and a baby."

Insurance claims handler Miss Harvey said she emailed the hotel again, arguing the whereabouts of the phone was its responsibility.

She also explained her predicament on Facebook and later made contact with The Sun, which sent a reporter to trace the Samsung.

The Sun reported that the person whose graphic photos appeared was Soraya Aparacio, 26, and that her hotel maid mother Dulce, 46, had lost her job for not handing the phone in.

Miss Harvey said she felt a little bit bad about this outcome, but added that it should not have been a case of "finders keepers".

And she warned people with itchy fingers that technology could come back to bite you.

The Samsung is now on its way back to West Cross.

Craig said the couple had a decent 12-day holiday, despite trouble striking before they had landed on foreign soil.

"Our suitcase was ripped to shreds before we left Birmingham Airport," he said. "We took photographs of it on Clare's phone."
