Swansea City star Angel Rangel has hailed the influence of his fellow Spanish players after an historic campaign which included a first major trophy with the Capital One Cup and a ninth-place finish in the Barclays Premier League.
Rangel, who swapped Spain for Swansea in 2007, told the club's website it has been "a pleasure" to play with fellow countrymen Pablo Hernandez, Michu and Chico Flores.
"On the pitch they are top players, and off the pitch they are a very good group of lads," he said.
"The Spanish influence at the club has been very important in the club's success, going back to when Roberto (Martinez) was here as a player.
"It's great to see Swansea City having such a strong connection with Spain.
Rangel added the other Spanish players feel comfortable and settled in South Wales.
"We spend quite a lot of time together," he added.
And he praised former Rayo Vallecano midfielder Michu saying everything about his game motivates the team individually.
"Michu affects you not just in terms of his goals, but it's also his workrate on and off the ball. He goes for it 100 per cent – he is not afraid of anything," he said.
"This season he has been a leader when he was playing as the lone striker. He showed the whole team that we will go for it.
"He drags everyone into the game. His finishing, his runs into the box, his tackling – it's fantastic."
