GLAMORGAN have already spoken to potential replacements for Aussie seamer Dirk Nannes ahead of their T20 campaign.
Nannes won't be arriving in South Wales after failing to recover from a back injury picked up playing for Chennai Super Kings in the Indian Premier League.
The loss of one of the most experienced bowlers in T20 cricket is a major blow to the Welsh county's hopes of making an impact in the competition this summer.
But the feelers are already out to fill the role of the Dragons' second overseas player alongside Australian Test batsman Marcus North.
Glamorgan's head of elite performance Matthew Mott said: "We were disappointed to hear that Dirk will not be able to join us this season — he is a quality bowler and would have been a valuable addition to our squad. We are now considering different replacement options and have already spoken to a number of players."
Meanwhile, former Somerset director of cricket Brian Rose is to continue his advisory role with the county.
Rose has completed a report on the structure of Glamorgan and Welsh cricket. He said: "In compiling my report, I have been impressed by the passion and enthusiasm displayed by all parties and their unstinting determination to transform the fortunes of Welsh Cricket.
"It will take hard work and a realisation about the standards needed to achieve results in a competitive environment.
"I would like to thank all those that I met and I look forward to working closely with both Glamorgan and Cricket Wales over the coming months as we start to implement the agreed recommendations."
