TRIBUTES have been paid to a rugby player from Trebanos, who died while on an end-of-season tour to the Midlands.
Cerith Edwards, a popular player with Trebanos Rugby Club, was discovered in his room on Friday night. The cause of death is not yet known.
The club's chairman Christopher Penhale has led the tributes, to the man who was known to friends as Peanut.
Mr Penhale said: "As a team the boys are extremely close and for the most part they have grown up playing rugby together, so you can imagine how devastating the loss of Cerith is.
"And it is not just the players. Trebanos is a small village and everyone is shocked and deeply saddened by what has happened."
Mr Penhale said that the thoughts and prayers of all were with the family.
He added: "Until we know exactly what happened the club would ask to be left alone to come to terms with this tragic loss.
"For now the boys just want some privacy to be able grieve for their friend."
Trebanos were due to play Redditch, outside Birmingham, on Saturday, but the fixture was called off, and the club returned home later that day.
On tour with Cerith and the club were his two brothers.
Brother Daniel Rhydian Edwards was one of many to post tributes on Facebook.
He wrote: "I am privileged to have been your brother for 25 years, wish it was longer, missing you so much.
"I am thinking about you every minute of the day.
"I know you'll always be looking out for us I got massive shoes to fill now on, being the big brother, but I promise you I'm going to make you so proud of me."
Friend Laura Boast added: "You have left one massive hole in 'Banos, and everywhere else boy. You'll be missed so much by so many people."
Messages of sympathy have also been sent from rugby clubs.
Both Mumbles and the Ospreys Supporters have tweeted condolences to Mr Edwards's family.
