PONTARDDULAIS kept up their winning start to the season to lead the way in the South Wales Premier Cricket League second XI championship.

Bont beat Bridgend by 18 runs with William Jones (51) and Richard Bond (59) the mainstay of their total of 182-9.

James Miles (4-29) and Gwyn Davies (3-37) were the architects of Bridgend's demise, as they were bowled out for 164.

There was an early finish for Port Talbot at The New Mansel with Sully Centurions crumbling to just 24 all out.

Matthew Smith was the star for the Pirates, returning figures of 5-9 from 11 overs, while Callum Beynon, Jack Underwood and Ryan Evans claimed a scalp apiece.
