A WOMAN has told a court her former partner assaulted her three times in three days – once by hitting her head against a wall ten times. Kylie Smith told city magistrates her ex-partner Paul Michael Williams, 23, of Gors Avenue, Mayhill, lost his temper before assaulting her. Williams's solicitor asked the woman if she is lying about the attacks to get attention. The couple met on Facebook, the court heard. In the first assault, on February 25, she alleges he pushed her onto the bed before arguing with her. She then alleged he hit her head 10 times against a wall. She said afterwards he apologised for hitting her. "I'm sorry, I won't do it again," she said Williams said. She said the following day he took her phone off her before pushing her to her chest to the floor. He then put one hand round her throat, she alleges, and the other over her mouth and nose. She said she managed to pull herself out of his grip before leaving the house. She said the third assault was stopped after police arrived partway through it. She said her sister, Mariah Carey Smith, had called them but as she returned home from the shop, he had grabbed her round the throat. Photographs of bruises on her body taken two days later were shown to the court. Dan Heard, representing Williams, asked Miss Smith if the bruises on her body had been caused from earlier incidents, including one where she had been moving a tumble drier in his flat. Miss Smith denied her former partner had a tumble drier at his home. Mr Heard alleged the other bruises were caused during an incident in the couple's bedroom, which took place before they had sex. "What I'm going to suggest is that prior to having sex, Paul was engaging in some role play where he was pretending to be Hulk Hogan and he jumped onto the bed and landed on your leg," he asked. "No, I never even touched him," she replied. Mr Heard said that the accusations were a "pack of lies". He said inconsistencies between her statement to police days after the alleged assault, and her testimony to the court were different because she had made the incidents up. He also asked her about her appearance on the Jeremy Kyle show, which aired in February this year. He said the title of the show was "My sister is trying to destroy our family" and Miss Smith had appeared on the show with her mother, sister and brother. "Me and my family had problems before. This was well before Paul came onto the scene. It was nothing about him," she said. But Mr Heard continued: "Your family took you on there because they said that your lies were destroying their family." She replied: "No, they took me on there to do a drugs test and it came back that I wasn't taking drugs," she said. Mr Heard said: "The ultimatum given at the very head of the show was 'Stop lying or we're done with you'." Williams denies three charges of assault. The trial continues.
