STREWTH mate . . . that fish can jump!
Nantgaredig actor Julian Lewis Jones has fished a wallaby out of the ocean while filming in Australia.
Julian, who starred in Clint Eastwood's rugby-based film 'Invictus' alongside Morgan Freeman and Matt Damon in 2009, made the surprise catch in the huge mouth of Darwin Harbour in Australia's Northern Territory.
Speaking to the Journal from Australia, where he is shooting 'Julian in Australia' for S4C, he said: "We are filming a fishing series, which takes us all over Australia, and were out in a small boat with a couple of the local guys after barracuda.
"We were just moving to another reef when we spotted something swimming in the water. We didn't know what it was so we got closer — it was a wallaby.
"It looked like it was on its last legs. It was so scared and in the middle of the ocean. It came to our boat perhaps sensing that we would be able to help it.
"The wallaby was lucky to be still alive. There are a lot of crocodiles and sharks in that area. I had caught an eight-foot hammer head shark the day before."
