A DIGITAL age is dawning for Neath, Port Talbot and Swansea Valley residents struggling to make their benefit claims online.

NPT Homes has appointed an in-house digital inclusion co- ordinator as part of the Get Neath Port Talbot Online Project.

Rachel Petch will be responsible for advising and helping residents county-wide to gain skills and confidence in the use of IT and the internet.

The project has had funding from Communities 2.0 Digital Inclusion Fund and is a partnership between NPT Homes, Coastal Housing and Melincryddan Community Conference.

Rachel said: "With the upcoming benefit changes it is important for those who are the most vulnerable and who lack IT knowledge and access to gain a better understanding of the web and how to claim online.

"This will hopefully ensure that they are able to manage their finances.

"NPT Homes is proud to be partners in this exciting project and we look forward to being able to help as many people as possible."
