THE family of a van driver who died in an horrific collision on the A465 have paid a heartfelt tribute to him.
Electrician Lyn Morgan from Maesteg was killed when the Citroen van he was driving was in collision with a lorry travelling in the opposite direction on the road near Resolven on Thursday afternoon.
He was married to Sara and in a moving family statement, his family described him as their rock who supported them in everything they did.
It reads: "Lyn was a hard-working man who came from nothing to build up a beautiful life for his family.
"He was a family man and he always gave us everything we ever wanted.
"In his spare time he loved to go shooting and was into his DIY, he was always doing something.
"Lyn meant everything to his family, he was our rock. He supported us all in everything we ever wanted to do.
"He lived for his kids and to them he was perfect.
"Lyn will be missed by all his family, friends and everyone who knew him."
South Wales Police are continuing to investigate the collision which happened when the white articulated lorry crosses the central reservation.
Mr Morgan's front seat passenger suffered injuries to his ribs and the driver of the lorry also suffered injuries.
Both remain at Morriston Hospital.
Because of the accident, the road was closed for around eight hours on Wednesday, with road users reporting traffic stretching all the way back to Neath.
