SOUTH Wales Scorpions half-back Ollie Olds is joining Australian Queensland Cup side Ipswich Jets.
The move has been funded by Ipswich's parent side Brisbane Broncos.
The 19-year old started his rugby league career at Brynteg Comprehensive School. After that, he went through the old Celtic Crusaders academy before spending a year with Leeds Rhinos. He also had a spell with Championship side York City Knights.
He signed for the Scorpions at the start of this year on the proviso that if an offer came in to further his career at a higher level, then the club wouldn't stand in his way.
"Brisbane Broncos have paid for the flights," said Olds. "They've sorted out work and accommodation for me and I'll be signing for Ipswich Jets, the feeder side to the Broncos, when I arrive in Australia this week.
"I'd like to thank the Scorpions for releasing me and the Scorpions fans for all they've done to support me."
