Police have arrested a man on suspicion of murder following the death of a 24-year-old man this morning.
Police and ambulance staff were called to a house in Cranleigh Rise, Llanrumney, Cardiff, in the early hours of this morning.
The 24-year-old was rushed to University Hospital of Wales but could not be saved.
A 53-year-old man arrested on suspicion of murder is currently in custody at the Cardiff Bay police station.
Officers are appealing for anybody who was in the area Cranleigh Rise at the time of the incident to come forward.
South Wales Police detective chief inspector Dorian Lloyd of the specialist crime investigations department said: "I would like to reassure the community that a full police investigation is currently underway and a 53-year-old man has been arrested on suspicion of murder.
"We will utilise our extremely strong community links to fully understand the events that led to this tragic death.
"We are appealing to anyone who has any information or who may have witnessed any suspicious activity in the Cranleigh Rise area of Llanrumney to contact South Wales Police."
An incident room has been set up at Cardiff Central police station.
