MICHAEL Laudrup has reiterated that he cannot make a long-term commitment to Swansea City — because he does not know himself where he will end up.
Swansea's manager is under contract at the Liberty Stadium until the end of next season and the club are keen for him to extend that deal by a further 12 months.But although there are suggestions that a new agreement is close, Laudrup has once again refused to speculate on his future prospects.
"I've said a couple of times that my intention is to stay but, again, who knows about the future?" Laudrup said.
"Intentions are one thing but who knows? Who knows what they will do next year, honestly 100 per cent?"
You can have your plans but none of us know, none of us has a crystal ball in life. "That is the only way I can answer these questions and it will probably be the same next week and next month.
"That's why I think we should leave it there and go back to what is important, which is the games we have coming up."
Laudrup has been linked with a move to Real Madrid, and is high in the betting to take over at Chelsea after Rafa Benitez revealed that he will definitely leave Stamford Bridge at the end of the season.
The Dane has stressed more than once that he is not desperate to graduate to one of the top clubs — but he has not rule out the idea.
He added: "I've never said I didn't want to manage a big club, it is just not a dream for me — that's different.
"If I go somewhere one day, I do, if I don't, I don't. It has nothing to do with ambition, because I do have ambition. How can I play for some of the top clubs for 17 years and win lots of titles if I don't have ambition?
"I just don't have plans for three years' time. That's just how I feel."
Laudrup has no fresh injury concerns ahead of Saturday's home clash with Newcastle, but there is no sign of Chico Flores returning from an ankle ligament problem.
In fact, Laudrup revealed, the defender could be out for up to five more weeks.There is better news of Neil Taylor, though. The left-back is back in light training having been out since early September with an horrendous ankle injury.
