Police are appealing for help to find three convicted robbers who have gone on the run.
Stephen Booth, 34, Jason Morris, 38, and John, 28, Phillips all absconded from Prescoed prison in Monmouthshire last night.
Officers are advising the public not to approach the men, but to call police if they have any information on their whereabouts.
A Gwent Police spokesman said: "It is believed there may be a potential risk due to the fact that these individuals are no longer in the custody of the prison service." Gwent Police has activated its operational plan with the aim of locating the individuals and the prison is co-operating fully with us. "Members of the public are advised not to approach any of the men if they see them."
Booth was convicted of robbery at Cardiff Crown Court in June 2008, Morris was convicted at Merthyr Crown in September 2005, and Phillips at Swansea Crown in March 2006.
Police have released descriptions of the three men. Booth is described as being 5ft 4in tall, of a slim build, and with a brown goatee beard. Morris is described as 5ft 9in tall, and also of a slim build, with brown hair. He has "Jason" tattooed on his neck, "Ann" tattooed on his left arm, and a swallow, a heart and the names "Jason" and "Nicola" on his right arm. Phillips is described as being of a slight build with black hair and a full beard.
