IT might be nice to praise our council once in a while, and I will be doing just that.
We have had such a lot of rain recently, and where I live, in Station Road, Nantgaredig, the main road never seems to clear of puddles.
I telephoned the council on Monday morning and advised the receptionist of this fact. She assured me she would pass the message on to the relevant department.
By Tuesday evening, there were workmen busily working on a point in the road where apparently there was a burst main — Dwr Cymru were on the case. The broken pipe was fixed.
By Wednesday afternoon, the council had their cleaning vehicle at every manhole clearing out its contents in Station Road.
Our road is clear of puddles and I can sleep at night in the thought that we are safe from flooding.
