UNION leaders say they will fight proposed changes to the NHS in Mid and West Wales.
Hywel Dda Health Board has agreed plans which it says will ensure patients receive the best possible care.
But it involves closing Mynydd Mawr Community Hospital in Tumble, a downgrading of the A&E unit in Llanelli and closure of a baby unit at Withybush Hospital in Haverfordwest.
Public sector union Unison says it will campaign to halt the changes.
Regional organiser Jeff Baker said: "The centralisation of services such as A&E and the special care baby unit will not only include health dangers because of the greater travelling time, but also when patients arrive at the centralised unit they will not be able to cope with the extra demand."
Branch secretary Wendy Evans said campaign groups should ask the Hywel Dda Community Health Council to exercise their right to appeal to the Health Minister.
